About OMC

An independent occupational medicine practice built on physician judgment

Occupational Medicine Consultants was founded in 1988 to give Minnesota employers, pilots, attorneys and insurers direct access to specialist physicians — not a template-driven clinic.

Dr. Thomas Jetzer, MD, MPH

Founder & Medical Director

Dr. Jetzer founded Occupational Medicine Consultants in 1988 to practice occupational medicine the way he believed it should be practiced: with the physician at the center of the evaluation, enough time to get the history right, and a written opinion that stands on the medical evidence.

Board certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and an FAA-designated Senior Aviation Medical Examiner, he has spent his career at the intersection of clinical care, workplace exposure, aviation certification and medical-legal evaluation. He is a HIMS-trained monitor, a DOT Certified Medical Examiner, and has performed thousands of flight physicals and independent medical evaluations for pilots, employers, insurers and attorneys throughout the Upper Midwest.

His work in ergonomics and occupational injury prevention — including worksite evaluation, hand-arm vibration and cumulative trauma — has informed employer programs across manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, public safety and government. He has taught and lectured widely on occupational health and remains actively involved in the professional societies that set the standards our field works to.

Patients and clients meet Dr. Jetzer directly. That continuity is deliberate: the physician who examines you is the physician who signs the report and answers the questions that follow.
