Evaluations

Fitness for Duty, Return to Duty & Workability Evaluations

Independent fitness-for-duty determinations, return-to-duty clearances and workability evaluations when safety, performance or return-to-work questions arise.

  • Objective, defensible determinations
  • Return-to-duty clearance after injury, leave or violation
  • Workability and functional capacity documentation

When to refer

Refer when an employee's ability to safely perform essential job functions is in question — after an extended absence, following an injury or medical event, or when performance and safety concerns have a possible medical cause.

Return to duty

Clearance evaluations after injury, illness, leave or a safety-sensitive violation. We evaluate against the actual physical demands of the job, coordinate with treating providers when documentation is thin, and give the employer a decision they can act on the same day.

  • Return to work after injury, surgery or extended leave
  • DOT and safety-sensitive return-to-duty evaluations
  • Modified duty recommendations and follow-up

Workability and functional capacity

Workability evaluations translate clinical findings into practical capability — lifting, standing, reaching, exposure tolerance — so placement and accommodation decisions rest on evidence rather than assumption.

  • Physical demands matching
  • Temporary and permanent restriction determinations
  • Accommodation feasibility input

What you receive

A written determination that states whether the employee can perform the essential functions of the job, any restrictions and their expected duration, and what reassessment (if any) is recommended — without disclosing unnecessary clinical detail.
