What should I do before an FAA flight physical?+
Complete your FAA MedXPress application online and bring the confirmation number to your appointment. Also bring photo ID, your pilot certificate, any corrective lenses or hearing aids, a current medication list, and records for any condition the FAA has previously reviewed.
Which classes of FAA medical certificate can OMC issue?+
All of them. Our physicians are FAA-designated Senior Aviation Medical Examiners and perform First, Second and Third Class examinations, along with BasicMed exams and air traffic controller clearances.
My certificate was deferred or requires special issuance. Can you help?+
Yes. We prepare complete special issuance packets, coordinate directly with the FAA Aerospace Medical Certification Division, and provide HIMS monitoring for pilots certified under that program.
How do I refer a case for an Independent Medical Evaluation?+
Call our office at (952) 920-5663 to confirm availability, then send the records and the specific questions you need answered. We will schedule the examinee, complete the evaluation, and return a written report on the timeline your case requires.
Do you provide deposition or trial testimony?+
Yes. Our physicians support their written opinions with deposition and, when needed, trial testimony.
Will I get my DOT card the same day?+
In most cases, yes. Our examiners are on the FMCSA National Registry and issue the medical examiner's certificate at the visit when qualification standards are met. If additional documentation is required, we will tell you exactly what is needed.
How do employers set up a respirator or surveillance program?+
Employer registration is required to use our online respirator questionnaire and surveillance programs. Call the office and we will set up your account, protocols and reporting.
Do you bill insurance?+
Employer-directed exams, DOT physicals, FAA flight physicals and independent evaluations are generally billed to the employer, agency or requesting party rather than to health insurance. Our staff will confirm billing before your visit.
How early should I arrive?+
Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment so check-in and any required paperwork can be completed before your exam starts.
